Helicopter Eela Movie Review: Kajol, You Beauty!
"To mothers and their dreams"
Cast: Kajol, Riddhi Sen, Neha Dhupia
Directed by: Pradeep Sarkar
Genre: Drama
When the trailer is pretty good, the director is even better, and it stars Kajol in the lead - you can't blame me for having high expectations.
Kajol looks fabulous and did a great job! But Helicopter Eela failed to hold my attention because of a poorly written script.
I did feel the concept of being a 'helicopter' mom was a tad exaggerated.
Amidst trying to play Jaya Bachchan from K3G (who sensed whenever her son was close), living and reliving her passion for singing, dealing with a husband whose family has a history of men lasting only up to the age of 40, and being Helicopter Eela - the crux of the film was completely lost.
I was expecting a complete family drama where there'd be entertainment and roona-dhoona.

For the hardcore Kajol fans, this won't be all that disappointing. I just couldn't take my eyes off her; is it just me or does she still look like her DDLJ days?!
Tumbbad, Helicopter Eela, Jalebi, and FryDay released this week. Which one did you watch?
